EIR Roman army part 3

Bon on continue dans la rome antique avec de nouvelles unitees.

Pour commencer je vous présente la cavalerie des auxiliaires. Une belle unite de 12 cavaliers avec le porte drapeau et musicien. Les figs sont toutes metals et les boucliers proviennent aussi de warlord game.

Still presenting the roman empire with new units.

First we have the auxilaries cavalry. Nice unit form with 12 minis, flag and musicien. There are all in metal and the shield come from warlord game.

On continue avec une unite d'elite, la garde pretorienne. On peut facilement la differencier des autres unites grave a ses boucliers ovales et leur robe violette. Et la malheur, je viens de me rendre compte que les transferts des boucliers sont tous en train de se barrer. La colle n'a pas tenu il va falloir que je les reprenne un par un pour les recoller. Les transferts venaient la aussi de chez warlord games.

Next we have a elite unit, the praetorien guard. easy to differentiate from the other because of the oval shield and the purple robe. And as you can notice, the F... transfer start to fly away. A problem with the glue and I will have to reglue everythinf one bye one. Transfer was from warlord games.

Reading

Aujourd'ui je vais vous parler de mes lectures du moment.
Grand fan de BD europeennes et de comics, je possede un bonne collection qui malheureusement ne m'a pas suivi aux US. Je profite donc de mon sejour aux USA pour me concentrer sur les comics. Étant un peu dans une periode star wars (entre le re-visionage des films, la fin de la série clones wars, l'attente de la nouvelle série star wars rebels) nous avons recement complete notre collection de comic star wars.
Je suis déjà différent arc star wars en France, je possède tous les clones wars (10 tomes) et j'ai tous les tomes parus pour les Legacy, Old republic et Invasion. Voici mes derniers achats US:

Today I gonna talk about book and reading.
I'm a big fan of comics (European and US) and I have a huge collection but unfortunatly, I was not able to cone in the USA with all of them so everything stay in France for the moment. Here I decided to focus on comics books. I must admit we are in a star wars period (re-watching the movies, finishing the last saison of clones wars, waiting for star wars rebels) so we acquiere several star wars comics recently. I have already some in France, all the volume for clones wars, Legacy, invasion and old republic. So here what we have now:

Star Wars: Dark Empire Trilogy (Dark Horse)

le pitch:
Six years after the fall of the Empire in Return of the Jedi, the battle for the galaxy's freedom rages on. The Empire has been mysteriously reborn under an unknown leader, wielding a new weapon of great power. Mon avis:
D'une maniere generale, c'est plutot une bonne BD, agreable a lire bien que parfois un peu dur a dechiffrer a cause des dessins et des couleurs qui pourront en surprendre plus d'un surtout si l'on a pas l'habitude de ce type de dessin a l'ancienne. Cote histoire on retrouve tous nos personnages favoris de la premiere trilogie quelques annees en plus au compteur. L'histoire sans etre une des plus innovantes reserve tout de fois quelques surprises. Certainement pas un must have pour un lecteur de SF mais indispensable pour tout fan qui se respecte. Je vous renvoie a cette tres bonne critique faite sur le site BDgest qui resume (en mieux) ma pensee.

According to me it is a good comic, you will have a good time reading this book even if sometimes it can be hard with the special drawing and color used by the author. You will find all the characters from the first trilogy with several year older. The story is not the best and most new but still you will have some surprise. If you are a SF fan and are looking for a comic independently of star wars univers, don't buy it you will find better. If you a star wars fan, go ahead you have to have it.

Star Wars: Darth Vader and the Ninth Assassin

Mon avis:
Decut, ca se lis vite, tres tres vite, peu de texte, pas beaucoup d'histoire. Ok on a une histoire sur vador en entier, on passe un bon moment de lecture, les dessins son sympa, mais ca ne vaut pas le prix du livre. Totalement dispensable.
Disapointed, here the feeling I have at the end of this book. You will read it fast, really really fast and the story is minimal. Ok it is not htat bad and it still good to follow vader, you will have a good time reading the book with cool drawing but it is not worth the prize. Totally dispensable.

Star Wars: Dawn of the Jedi

 

Le pitch:
Here begins the tale of the dawn of the Jedi, the Star Wars of 25,000 years ago - before lightsabers, before hyperspace travel, before the Jedi spread throughout the galaxy, when connections to the Force were new. On the planet Tython, a group of beings - scientists, philosophers, and warriors - strive to maintain peace and balance with the mystifying power known as the Force. But a stranger is coming, one who will disrupt the balance with his arrival and his own connection to the Force. Everything in their system is about to change...the doors to the galaxy have been opened!

Mon avis:
Tres bonne surprise que cette serie en trois volume (pour l'instant je n'ai que les deux premiers). Premierement cote dessin c'est pas mal du tout, dans la norme de ce qui se fait en se moment, rien de splendide mais agreable a regarder. Cote histoire on suit les debuts de l'order Jedi donc ne vous attendez pas a retrouver des personnages des films, tout se passe des milliers d'annees avant la bataille de Yavin. On s'attache tout particulierement au personnage du cote obscur. L'intrigue est bien mene et on a envie de connaitre la suite. Tres bonne mis en place de l'univers. Sans conteste une serie a avoir, meme si on est pas dans le trip star wars.

Really good surprise for this series of three volumes (only hace two for the moment). The drawing is good, comparable to what is done today. It is not the best drawing in the world but still good. For the story, we are following the beginning of the jedi order, so don't except to see people from the movies, the story is several thousand years before battle of Yavin. I really like the characters, particularly the one from the dark side. It is a must have serie, even if you re not a fan of star wars.

Star Wars Rebellion 

Having rescued Rebel strategist Jorin Sol from the Empire, Luke Skywalker now leads X-Wing attack runs on Imperial convoys to rustle up much needed supplies for the Rebel fleet. Little does he know that within Sol lies a secret that will put the entire Alliance in danger. What's worse, when Luke receives a coded message from Lt. Sunber, he must decide whether to trust his old friend or obey the orders of Princess Leia who believes Tank may be part of an Imperial plot to capture the Rebellion's greatest hero!

Mon avis: je les ai pas encore lu donc pas d'avis pour l'instant.
Still not reading these one so no opinion for the moment.

Aujourd'hui j'ai mis a jour les pages fixes de mon blog (les liens sont a droite). Elles vont vous présenter toutes les armées que je possède aux différentes échelles, même si en fat a part une, tout est en 28mm :)
Vous trouverez en plus des photos la composition globale de l’armée. J'essaierais de faire des posts pour les présenter plus en détail.Pour l'instant il n'y a pas de photos pour tout le monde mais je vais ;mettre a jour au fur et a mesure, a part pour les armée qui sont reste chez moi en France, ce sera plus dur d'avoir des photos.

Today I uptdate the pages of the blog (link on the right). You will find the different army I have mostly 28mm and one 15mm. In addition of the pictures, i give you the composition of the army. I will try to post about each of them to present more in detail. There is no picture for all of them but I will try tu update ASAP, except for the army still at home in France.

AWI milice forever

Un rapide post pour vous tenir au courant de l'avancer de mon armee americaine. J'ai fini 6 nouveau milicien. Cette fois ce sont des gens du sud (quand j'ai passe commande il n'y avait pas les 3 pack de milicien du nord du coup j'en ai pris un du sud). Le schema de couleur est un peu plus clair que d'habitude mais mixer avec les autres figs, ils ne seront pas vraiment distinguable.

Fast post just to keep you inform of my progress for my american army. I just finished 6 new militia members. They are from the south ( there was not enough blister available for the north when I passed order so I take one from the south). Color are little bit more light but mix with the other, nobody will distinguish them.

Deadzone reborn

Il y a 3 semaines j'ai reçu un colis de mantic, c’était les quelques pieces manquantes de ma première livraison. JE dois dire que je n'ai pas eu trop a me plaindre, il manquait uniquement le Helfather et un marauder pyro ainsi que 4 plaques accessoires de décors. Rien de bien grave en comparaison de certaines personnes a qui ils manquaient toute une faction ou pire encore. Du coup je me suis mis de suite a la peinture et voici le résultat. Toujours un plaisir de peindre ces figs, ça avance très vite et le résultats est vraiment sympa. une bonne coupure par rapport a mes figs AWI.

Lego Krakaje le retour

Comme vous le savez tous le 4 mai est la journée dédiée a star wars ( May the 4th be with you). Pour feter ca lego a bien sur fait un evenement special avec promo sur certains sets et une fig gratuite (dath Revan) pour plus de 75$ d'achat. Alors qu'est ce qui se passe quand un couple de geek voit ca, il achete et pas qu'un peu...
Voici la liste des sets commandes:

Et la faut avouer que le colis est plus qu'impressionnant. 13kg de Lego, une boite énorme avec des sous boites, une notice de montage de malade. J'ai hâte de m'atteler au montage et de voir le produit final. A cote, toutes les autres boites, meme celle du faucon font ridicule.

Concernant le polybag de darth revan je l'ai toujours pas ouvert. J'ai jeter un coup d'oeil sur ebay et la je suis eberlue par la speculation sur les lego. Le prix oscille entre 20 et 30$ pour une figurine gratuite que tout le monde peut avoir en commandant chez lego. Allez comprendre....

As you all know the 4 th of may is the actual star wars day (May the 4th be with you). To celebrate this, lego organize a special events with special prize on selected sets and a free minifigs (dath Revan) over 75$ of order. So what happens when a geek couple see that, is buying and not just one set...

And I must say, for the death star, the box is really impressive. 26lbs of lego, a gigantic box, with the pieces in small boxes, the book is huge. I'm really curious to start the mounting and to see the final product. To compare, all the other box even the one of the falcon look ridiculous.

I still don't open the bag of darth revan. I take a look on ebay and I was really surprise the speculation for a minifig that everybody can have just by buying something on the legoshop. Price are between 20 to 30$, crazy....

AWI French troop experiment

Bonjour tout le monde.
Aujourd'hui j'ai un peu change de peinture et j'ai arrete la milice pour faire un test sur les troupes francaises.
Je suis pas forcement sur du résultat et de l’historicité de la peinture. Je vous propose de regarder la figs sous tous les angles et de me faire parvenir vos commentaires. Peindre le blanc c'est quand même assez pénible.

Today let's change a little bit. No more militia but a painting test with the french troop I have.
 I don't know if the result is that great and if it is correct historically. So take a look to the mini and let me know what you think. Painting the white is really difficult!!!!!

AWI milice americaine

Un petit passage sur le blog pour vous montrez la progression de ces derniers jours.
Je suis toujours sur la milice americaine et je n'avance pas tres vite, en sachant que je n'ai toujours pas achete ce qu'il me faut pour tenter d'ameliorer mes socles. Donc pour l'instant j'ai des figs sans soclage, et je vois deja le probleme quand il vas falloir tout faire d'un coup.
Bon arretons de se plaindre et voici les 6 nouvelles recrues qui rejoignent les rangs de l'armee.
